Remembering the Enduring Legacy of Malik Anas

-

Malik Anas’s passing marks the end of an era. He was more than a political figure; he was a leader who exemplified honesty, compassion, and unshakable dedication to the people he served. His legacy, albeit short, left an indelible impact on the nation, a tribute to the power of selfless service and steadfast commitment to principles.

Malik Anas

Malik Anas entered politics not for selfish benefit, but because he really wanted to improve the lives of others. His early career, as Katsina State Accountant General, foretold his future effective leadership. This was more than just policy; it reflected His tremendous sensitivity and knowledge of everyday persons’ difficulties.

Beyond legislative successes, Malik’s main strength was his ability to connect with people. He had an extraordinary ability to listen, grasp other points of view, and find common ground even in the midst of serious conflicts.

This capacity to bridge gaps was critical for the Accountant General, who is currently the Commissioner of Budget and Katsina State’s Economic Planning.

Malik Anas’s legacy goes beyond particular initiatives. He leaves behind a leadership paradigm defined by attributes such as honesty, courage, and resilience. He proved that great leadership is about service, not power—a commitment to others’ well-being, a readiness to listen, and a persistent adherence to ideals.

Malik’s demise has left a tremendous vacuum. However, his life is a compelling reminder of the possibility for positive change when people devote themselves to the greater good.

His legacy will encourage future leaders to aspire to the same degree of honesty, compassion, and unflinching dedication to public service. Malik’s legacy is more than simply a list of accomplishments; it is a live example of the enduring power of a life spent serving others.

Ex-accountant-general Malik Anas as commissioner

The Katsina House of Assembly has vetted former accountant-general Malik Anas for confirmation as a commissioner.

The nominee was vetted by the parliament during its plenary session in Katsina on Wednesday, presided over by Speaker Nasir Yahaya-Daura.

The parliament also approved Abdullahi Gagare as chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission.

Lawal Yaro, a legislator representing the Musawa seat, said his nomination came at the opportune time after Mr. Anas offered his brief history.

The politician from the same local government region as the nominee stated that Governor Dikko Radda has made an honorable appointment.

As a result, he asked the assembly members to let the nominee bow and go “because of his generosity and kindness.”

The congressman went on to say, “I also want to beg my honorable colleagues not to question the candidate because of his skill and charisma.

“The candidate has worked for the state in various positions for more than 20 years. As a result, he has made significant contributions to the growth of the state.

“Considering his contributions, generosity, kindness, and support to women and youths in the state, we should kindly allow him to bow and go.”

In his answer, the speaker embraced the parliamentarians’ ideas and urged the commissioner-nominee to bow and proceed without question.

Mr. Anas worked as the accountant-general under former Governor Aminu Masari. He was thereafter selected as Mr. Radda’s special adviser on banking and finance, a position he retained until his nomination as commissioner.
