Nigerian Visa: UAE imposes fresh conditions on Nigerians travelling to Dubai, bans transit visa

-

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has put new requirements on Nigerians wanting to travel via the nation, prohibiting transit visa applications.

This new directive was sent to travel agencies on Tuesday.

According to the regulation, Nigerians aged 18 to 45 are not eligible for tourist visas unless they are accompanied.

The letter further said that candidates aged 45 and above “must provide a single Nigerian personal bank statement for the last six months, with each month’s end balance reflecting a minimum ending balance of USD 10,000 or its naira equivalent.”

Nigerians wanting to apply for the visa should also examine these before providing other current papers such as hotel reservations, data pages, and so on.

This comes only a year after the UAE and Nigeria ended a two-year visa restriction on Nigerians.

New UAE visa conditions for Nigerians

  1. Nigerian nationals may no longer apply for transit visas.
  2. Nigerians aged 18 to 45 are ineligible for tourist visas while traveling alone.
  3. Applicants aged 45 and above must present a personal bank statement from a Nigerian bank for the past six months.
  4. Each month’s statement must indicate a minimum ending balance of $10,000 or its naira equivalent.
  5. All previous criteria, including hotel bookings and passport data sheets, must still be supplied with applications.
